MBA is one of the most sought after qualifications in the modern times. Consequently an increasing number of students start preparing for the same even before completing their undergraduate studies. Common entrance test or CAT, is undoubtedly the most popular and well known entrance exams for gaining admission into MBA. However, there are several other tests that aspiring MBA professionals can undertake to fulfill their dream of becoming an MBA professional. Given below are the brief details of some of the most important MBA entrance exams other than CAT.

The MAT is accepted as a credible, comprehensive and single-window test by most colleges and institutions offering management programs. The test is conducted by the Center for Management Services (CMS), which is a part of the All India Management Association (AIMA). The test is held four times in the months of February, May, September and December, every year.

The XLRI conducts the management admission tests at all India level, the results of which are accepted by over 140 management institutes across India. The exam which has been conducted for the past 60 years is held in 33 cities across the nation.

This test is approved by the Ministry of HRD and is conducted on an all India basis for selecting the most deserving candidates to postgraduate management programs. The test scores are accepted by more than 100 management institutes across the country.

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT):

This test is conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for selecting the most deserving candidates for admission in all management programs. The results of the test are acceptable across 4000 B-schools in India. This test has been introduced to make it possible for the aspiring management candidates to appear for a single exam rather than undertaking multiple exams for different management institutes.

IBS Aptitude Test (IBSAT):

This test is conducted by the ICFAI Business School Hyderabad and the results are acceptable only for admission to ICFAI. Graduates from any stream who have studied in the medium of English, and having an aggregate of 50% and above are eligible to apply for the test.

MAHARASHTRA MBA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (MAH – MBA/MMS CET):

This test is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education of Maharashtra. It is valid for students seeking admission to institutions offering postgraduate management programs in the state of Maharashtra only. This is an MBA entrance exam is conducted under the aegis of the Graduate Management Admission Council. Candidates successful in this test are eligible to apply for admission to NMIMS University as well as 15 other business schools in India
