― Theodore Roosevelt

Today I have come up with the list of skills that you would be learning in your course and how to put those skills to use:

  1. Delegation – The foremost skill you would be need in your new role as a manager is the skill of delegation. So far you have been concerned with the responsibilities that had been assigned to you. But now, as a manager you need to see a bigger picture and has to distribute the responsibility which has been provided to you amongst your subordinates. The skill of delegation would teach you to make a 360 degree analysis of your team which would in turn help you to decide the best fits for particular tasks.
  2. Briefing  – Next in line is briefing. As a manager, you need not do anything yourself but make your team acquainted with what you need them to do. Now, a caveat over here is that it is much more difficult than it seems. Till the time you are perfectly sure about what needs to be done, you can not guide your subordinates towards doing that task and therefore, the window for hit and trial is really a narrow one for you.
  3. Motivation – As a manager, your success would now be measured in terms of the success of those who are working under you. How will you make sure that they are working to the best of their capabilities. Yes, by constantly motivating them. Self-confidence would be a must in this case for starters. You need to have a positive energy around you all the time so that you can fill others with the same passion you had while you used to work as a technical guy.
  4. Communication – This I guess is one of the foremost skill you would be needing. I mean, you can’t keep doing the work yourself. As a manager, you now are an important bridge between the client and your team. If you do not have sound communication skills, you won’t be able to understand what is need at the client end and would fail miserably in explaining your team what you need them to do as well. Strong personality and good communication skills are the key to become a good manager.

VJIM or Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management is a name out of the many available that students can rely on for shaping their career. The Management Development Programme the institute has been offering is world class. They understand that different organizations may have different requirements from a candidate for different levels of recruitment. Keeping this in mind, apart from PG Diploma courses in Hyderabad, the institute emphasizes on the MDP or Management Development Programme focused for each level of entry.

What makes VIJM different from others?

Every institute is different from the rest of the institutes in similar domain owing to the infrastructure, methodologies and much more. What makes VIJM different are mind blowing as they are more into practical and real life scenario teaching than textual learning.

  • With being a subject matter expert in a particular subject, no student can excel in the job front. It needs the knowledge and wisdom of the subject. Operational implementation of the core learning is a dominant factor in any industry and this is what makes the institute different from other colleges offering PG diploma courses in Hyderabad.
  • Training, as well as feedback from 360-degree angle, is the forte. Without feedback, there can be no improvement in an individual and this has been understood by this premium college. Many students in the past have grown over the years on the basis of the application of training and feedback.
  • Case Studies that intrigue any mind is another factor that stands far from the crowd. Usually case studies are included in the final years of a diploma; however, here in VIJM, they have been included in the preliminary years so that the grip on the subject is strong by the end of the diploma.

If this picture is true to every college and institute of India, very soon, our country can be one of the most developed and educationally strong one. Be it any course, if the foundation is strong, an individual will definitely excel in the long run.
